Keeping Kids Safe on the Farm

Library guide intended to provide resources about farm safety and injury prevention for caregivers, children, and child welfare practitioners.

About This Guide

This library guide is intended to provide information to caregivers and practitioners about farm and rural area safety, and also provides a section of resources directed at youth to build their understanding and awareness. Studies have shown that children have a higher accident rate than adults and for every child who dies, there have been a dozen or more kids seriously injured in farm accidents, as well as countless “near misses."

OACAS has created a Farm Safety Practice Note that contains useful information for child welfare practitioners as well as caregivers in farming and rural environments.
