About identity-based data collection

Identity-based data refers to socio-demographic information about people such as citizenship status, race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Effective February 5 2018, Children's Aid Societies using the Child Protection Information Network (CPIN) will collect identity-based data under the Ministry of Children and Youth Services's Identity-Based Data Collection Initiative.
